As many of you know, my book of essays on life here in San Miguel, This is Mexico: Tales of Culture and Other Complications has been released to excellent reviews and is now available on Amazon and in many US bookstores. Now, I want to offer you a chance to win a FREE one-week stay in one of the casitas at Cinco Flores.
How You Can Win
If you’d like to enter to win a stay here in the historic center of San Miguel, all you have to do is subscribe to my newsletter! To be eligible to win, you must subscribe before April 30, 2015.
What You Can Win
The lucky winner will receive a free one-week stay in one of our casitas at Cinco Flores in San Miguel. The prize may be redeemed for any open week between May 15, 2015 and December 31, 2015. Although I’d love to meet you personally, if you’re unable to use your week, you may transfer it to a friend, family member or fellow lover-of-all-things-Mexico!
Don’t worry, I won’t flood your email in-box (aren’t we are all too busy for that?) nor will I use your email address for anything other than my three or four times a year newsletter.
Hope to see you in San Miguel!
I adore San Miguel!
Hi Carol
I did meet you at the Writer’s Conference…it’s so nice to know your book is available on Amazon- it will be a Christmas present for my daughter.
And what a lovely idea to give away a week at one of your casitas.
I will be staying in San Miquel in February and March 2016, and hope to run into you at the Writer’s Conference again (or at the Jardin).
Janis
Janis: You were kind enough to write to me from my website carolmerchasin.com and I am sad to say that I didn’t respond! Not because I didn’t want to (I always respond to every reader) but because apparently your email got lost in another part of my website, only to be discovered this week while I was making some changes.
So I wanted to say that I am also going to be at the Writer’s Conference in San Miguel this year and I hope to run into you there! And that I hope your daughter enjoyed the book.
Regards,
Carol
Congratulations on the new book. we love San Miguel
Can’t wait to read you new book!
(Carol, please use this version, not the first one. Thanks!)
I have spent time on Isla Mujeres every year for 25 years. This year 3 girlfriends and I took a side trip from the island to San Miguel. Our first visit there. Lovely city, friendly people, terrific arts. I am writing our travelogue based on our three days there. When I get my story, “Behind the Gates of San Miguel” posted, I’ll let you know.
I’m envious that you have written in SMA–what an inspiration. I would enjoy working on my novel there for a week. Eager to read your book. Rhonda
I would love to read your post — be sure to let me know when it is posted?
I would love to subscribe to your newsletter, but when I click on your link it takes me to Mail Chimp. Whatever that is. ??? Just ordered your book from Amazon – looking forward to reading it!
MailChimp (where DO they get these names?) is the program that accumulates the emails and sends out the newsletter to everyone who has opted in. SO, I think it is okay to get to MailChimp — but if you have a problem, send me another message and I will ask someone to sign you up just to make sure everything is ok. And I hope you will enjoy This is Mexico!
I am anxious to read your book! Love the town.
It is a special place!
My friend just told me about you and your blog so I have just subscribed to your newsletter. We will be in San Miguel de Allende following our son’s wedding in Guanajuato in November. It’s our first time in this part of Mexico and we’re quite excited about it! I look forward to reading your newsletters (too bad I missed out on your “win a week in San Miguel” offer). Thank you!
Kim: Thanks for signing up! And how exciting — a wedding in Guanajuato sounds wonderful. Don’t worry, we will have another giveaway one of these days and hopefully you will have enjoyed San Miguel so much that you will want to return. November is a great month to visit.
I have just ordered your book Carol and I can hardly wait to read it. I have had probably the very worst year a person can have. My husband of many, many years left. I lost the person I thought was my best friend, my standard of living, my home, my garden and nearly my sanity. San Miguel seems a magical place to me. I want to get lost in its magic, maybe it will help me heal. Peace my friend.
I am so sorry to hear all of this. I hope that you will find a way to make a trip down here — it really is a healing place.
